Words of kindness are works of kindness, and since they cost so little and are worth so much, we should strew them plentifully all along life's way. ~Modern Proverbs

Today is another lovely day. The breeze is slight enough that as I write this I hear the windchimes on the front porch. Of course, along with nice weather comes the sound of lawn mowers, but the sound is far enough away it doesn't interfere with my enjoyement.
On our errands to day we stopped at the Goodwill. I found another pin for my collection of 60s flower pins. This one has two flowers in a deep blue color. They look like unopened daisies. I was pleased with my find. The price was only 2 dollars, so I'm not complaining about that either. I didn't have time to look through the books. Bummer! But, I have so many books now they are overflowing all the surfaces around me.
I visited one of my favorite web sites. It features the space art of B.E. Johnson. If you like that sort of thing, visit the site.
We watched an interesting show on The History Channel last night. It was about secret passages. I didn't know that in Pendelton, Oregon there was a city under the city. Apparently, after the transcontinental railroad was finished the Chinese workers were not exactly wanted in Pendelton and the majority population felt like they were taking jobs away from them. So, in order to stay out of sight as much as possible, the Chinese built their homes underground. Isn't that something?
I've started reading the first volumn in a two-part Star Trek series titled The Eugenics War. It is about the rise of Kahn, one of Captian Kirk's nemeses. Imagine my surprise when the novel starts out featuring Gary Seven and Ms. Lincoln--two characters from one of my favorite "time travel" Trek episodes! As the novel starts, they are involved in some espionage in 60s Russia.
I hope I don't end up spending time here and not working on updating my other webpages. If you are interested in my other pages, go to my homepage and use the links there. Anyway, I thought I would like to post an image (copyright 2002) I created a few weeks ago using PSP. Let's see if it works.
Today was a fine day, our first day this year with temperatures in the 70s. There is a steady breeze that is keeping us from feeling like the temperature is in the 70s, though. It would be a great day to go to the park and fly the kites I bought last month, but unfortunately, the boys have school work and the paper route to do, leaving no time for flying kites. Perhaps this weekend.
I did write a couple of new poems today, both are cinquains(copyright 2002):
Velocity I move away from you with quickness of motion, like a rocket ship escaping the Earth.
